Mushroom Musings

Mushrooms are pretty amazing, they straddle that line between life and death, they thrive in rot, they serve this alchemical purpose in nature of bringing life into the places where death resides, they consume decay and feed not only themselves, but through their vast underground networks, they feed new and old growth all around them.

These paper mache mushrooms I started making in 2022 have bases made largely from discarded items, cardboard boxes, old notebooks, the big one has a spine mostly made of empty soda cans, empty plastic containers, bits of broken discarted furniture, etc, another level of decay (trash in this case) being given new life. This is basically a mini collection inside of my Garden Alchemy collection.
